CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 86 <br />By: Nicole Dailey Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />THREE (3) YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF OLMSTED FALLS, <br />OHIO FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PROVIDING THE CITY OF OLMSTED FALLS WITH POLICE AND FIRE <br />DISPATCHING SERVICE, AND DECLARINGAN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted presently operates its own professional dispatch <br />center within the North Olmsted Division of Police; and <br />WHEREAS, the three (3) year contract commences January 1, 2025 and will end on <br />December 31, 2027, unless a one-year option is agreed upon; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Olmsted Falls will pay to the City of North Olmsted <br />$300,000.00 in year one (1), payable in quarterly installments, with an annual three percent (3%) <br />increase in each subsequent year, including the option year if elected; and <br />WHEREAS, without professional, full time dispatchers on City staff, the City of Olmsted <br />Falls has proposed to the City of North Olmsted that its professional dispatchers begin <br />dispatching for police and fire service in the City of Olmsted Falls; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has the capacity and facilities to accommodate <br />the request of the City of Olmsted Falls and the City Administration recommends that the City of <br />North Olmsted enter into a contract with the City of Olmsted Falls to provide the services as <br />described herein. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a three (3) <br />year contract with the City of Olmsted Falls for the period January 1, 2025 through December 31, <br />2027, with a one (1) year option, in the base amount of $300,000.00, plus annual 3% increases, <br />for the City of North Olmsted to provide police and fire dispatch services to the City of Olmsted <br />Falls. The contract shall be in form and substance substantially similar to the attached contract, <br />marked as Exhibit A, with such additional negotiated changes in form and substance that are not <br />substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character <br />of the agreement as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by <br />the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the contract by the Director of <br />Law. <br />
