CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 90 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND <br />COMMUNITYDEVELOPMENT TO MAKEAPPLICATIONONBEHALFOF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED TOWN <br />HALL AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (`ADA) IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT, • FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT GRANT <br />FUNDS, IFAWARDED,AND TO EXECUTECONTRACT WITHCUYAHOGA <br />COUNTYIFREQUIRED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is eligible to apply for grant funding administered by <br />Cuyahoga County including funding from Community Development Block Grant Program, which <br />program awards funds for projects on a competitive basis upon review of community development <br />needs related to health and welfare; and <br />WHEREAS, based on grant requirements, the administration requests authorization to apply <br />for CDBG funding to construct accessibility improvements for ADA compliance at North Olmsted <br />Town Hall, including improvements to the existing exterior ramp and installation of a limited use, <br />limited accessibility elevator in the rear of the building; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Economic and <br />Community Development to apply for such funding and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor to <br />execute a contract required to accept such funding. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be and he is <br />hereby authorized to apply for Community Development Block Grant funding from Cuyahoga <br />County for the North Olmsted Town Hall ADA Improvement Project. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to accept the said funding, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract with Cuyahoga County, if <br />required. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further <br />reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order to meet the <br />application deadline; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />
