CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2024 - 76 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR EXCESS <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THE CITY HEALTH CARE & <br />HOSPITALIZATION PLANS FOR 2025, AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted desires to go to market to acquire <br />proposals for excess insurance coverage (aka stop loss coverage) for the City Health Care <br />and Hospitalization Plans in 2025; <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Human <br />Resources to solicit proposals for excess / umbrella health insurance coverage and to <br />further authorize the Mayor, upon approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an <br />agreement or agreements for the purchase of said insurance policy with the most <br />qualified firm to perform the services and provide the umbrella insurance at a price that is <br />fair and reasonable to the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Human Resources be and she is hereby <br />authorized to solicit or request proposals for a health insurance excess / umbrella policy, <br />in accordance with the specifications now on file in her office and that, upon approval by <br />the Board of Control, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or <br />agreements for said insurance policy with the most qualified firm to provide the umbrella <br />insurance at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest da provided for by law. <br />PASSED: ,� `t" First Reading: G - <br />Second Reading: 1T 10 - <br />Third Reading: 9 , 3 —.7 <br />Committee: 10CR n .. e_.t <br />
