CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 87 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE TWO (2) <br />2015 POLICE FORD EXPLORER UTILITY VEHICLES FROM MONTROSE <br />FORD AT A TOTAL COST OF $91,937.50 PURSUANT TO THE STATE <br />PURCHASE PROGRAM, • AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE ALL PURCHASE AGREEMENTS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety and the North Olmsted Chief of Police request <br />authorization to replace two (2) police cruisers due to their age and condition, upon the <br />recommendation and assistance of the Fleet Manager, and propose to purchase two (2) Ford <br />Explorer vehicles from Montrose Ford at a price of $91,937.50, via the State Purchase Program; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase two (2) <br />2025 Police Ford Explorer Utility vehicles, as described in detail on the quote document attached <br />as Exhibit A, based on pricing advantages offered through the State Purchase Program, and to <br />further authorize the Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase two (2) 2025 <br />Ford Explorer Utility Police vehicles from Montrose Ford at a cost of f $91,937.50, based on and <br />pursuant to the terms outlined by the quote attached as Exhibit A, which pricing advantages were <br />generated and quoted through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. <br />Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter <br />and Resolution No. 87-6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other <br />necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any <br />contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of <br />this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to lock <br />in current pricing and to insure availability of vehicles for delivery, thereby promptly replacing <br />vehicles at the end of their useful lives, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
