CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 88 By: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE ONE (1) 2023 POLICE FORD EXPEDITION SSV UTILITY VEHICLE FROM MONTROSE FORD AT A TOTAL COST OF $50,850.00; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL PURCHASE AGREEMENTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety and the North Olmsted Police Chief request authorization to replace one (1) of its police patrol cruisers currently utilized for patroUSWAT. It is the recommendation of the vehicle fleet manager that the current police cruiser vehicle be retired from active police duties, and proposes to purchase one (1) Ford Expedition SSV Utility vehicle from Montrose Ford at a price of $50,85.00; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase one (1) 2023 Police Ford Expedition SSV Utility vehicle, as described in the quote document attached as Exhibit A, based on pricing advantages offered through the State Purchase Program, and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase one (1) 2023 Ford Expedition SSV Utility vehicle from Montrose Ford at a cost of $50,850.00, based on and pursuant to the terms outlined by the quote attached as Exhibit A, which pricing advantages were generated and quoted through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to lock in current pricing and to insure availability of the vehicle for delivery, thereby promptly replacing a vehicle at the end of its life, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
