CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 88 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE ONE (1) <br />2023 POLICE FORD EXPEDITION SSV UTILITY VEHICLE FROM <br />MONTROSE FORD AT A TOTAL COST OF $50,850.00; AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL PURCHASE <br />AGREEMENTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety and the North Olmsted Police Chief request <br />authorization to replace one (1) of its police patrol cruisers currently utilized for patroUSWAT. It <br />is the recommendation of the vehicle fleet manager that the current police cruiser vehicle be <br />retired from active police duties, and proposes to purchase one (1) Ford Expedition SSV Utility <br />vehicle from Montrose Ford at a price of $50,85.00; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase one (1) <br />2023 Police Ford Expedition SSV Utility vehicle, as described in the quote document attached as <br />Exhibit A, based on pricing advantages offered through the State Purchase Program, and to <br />further authorize the Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase one (1) 2023 <br />Ford Expedition SSV Utility vehicle from Montrose Ford at a cost of $50,850.00, based on and <br />pursuant to the terms outlined by the quote attached as Exhibit A, which pricing advantages were <br />generated and quoted through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. <br />Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter <br />and Resolution No. 87-6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other <br />necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any <br />contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of <br />this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to lock <br />in current pricing and to insure availability of the vehicle for delivery, thereby promptly replacing <br />a vehicle at the end of its life, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />
