CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 92 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO ADVERTISE <br />FOR BIDS TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE EQ BASIN PROJECT, AS <br />DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, <br />TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BIDDER, AND DECLARINGAN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer has been working with CT Consultants to review and <br />redesign the specifications of the EQ Basin Project in order to meet the 1,500,000 -gallon capacity <br />needed for the project all the while remaining within the projected budgetary restrictions; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid for said construction <br />services and improvements have been prepared and are on file in the Department of Engineering; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the City Engineer to advertise for <br />bids for the award of a contract to make such improvements, as set forth in said specifications, <br />and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids <br />for the award of a contract to perforin construction services described as the EQ Basin Project, as <br />detailed in the specifications now on file, and that the Mayor, following approval by the Board of <br />Control, is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best <br />bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that immediate authorization will allow the City Engineer to meet notice and <br />advertising requirements in order to award the project before the end of this calendar year; and <br />further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it <br />shall take efT t and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: t First Reading: y� <br />Second Reading: <br />ThirdReading., <br />Committee: ,c�cdx-YvaT <br />
