CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 96 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH IIARRINGTON ELECTRIC, CO. TO PURCHASE <br />AND INSTALL ENERGY EFFICIENT LED LIGHTING IN THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING FOR THE <br />PURCHASE PRICE OF $58,885.00, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with the renovation at the Police Department <br />facilities for expanded dispatching capacity, the Administration has determined that <br />replacing all existing lighting systems with energy efficient LED lighting at the facility <br />will reduce the monthly energy bill by approximately $1,200.00; and <br />WHEREAS, the new LED lighting will include motion sensors and zero (0) to ten <br />(10) dimming capabilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed cost of the LED lighting replacement project is <br />$58,885.00, with the funding source being the grant provided by NOPEC; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Public <br />Safety and the Chief of Police, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to <br />enter into a contract with Harrington Electric, Co., which contract is attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a <br />contract with Hartington Electric Co., for the installation of LED lighting at the North <br />Olmsted Police Department facility. The contract is attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein as Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately to coordinate the LED Lighting Project with the Dispatch Renovation <br />Project; and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />
