CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 95 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />ADDITIONAL, THREE (3) YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF <br />FAIRVIEW PARK, OHIO FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THE CITY <br />OF FAIRVIEW PARK JAIL SERVICES FOR HOUSING OF FAIRVIEW <br />PARK PRISONERS IN THE NORTH OLMSTED CITY JAIL, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted presently operates its own professional and <br />certified jail facility, operated and staffed by the North Olmsted Division of Police; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Fairview Park, through its Police Department, in an effort to <br />provide for housing of prisoners in its custody, previously negotiated with the North Olmsted <br />Division of Police to provide for such jail services; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has provided jail services to the City of Fairview Park since 2021; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration recommends and it is the desire of this Council that the <br />City of North Olmsted enter into an additional contract with the City of Fairview Park to provide <br />jail services for housing of Fairview Park prisoners in the North Olmsted jail. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OFCUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into a contract, <br />on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, to provide for jail services to be performed for the City <br />of Fairview Park, and associated with the housing of Fairview Park prisoners at the North <br />Olmsted jail. Said contract shall be substantially in the form of the contract marked as Exhibit <br />.,A" <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to ensure <br />continued, uninterrupted jail services to the City of Fairview Park; and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
