CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2024 -100 By: Mayor Jones and Councilwoman Hemann A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH RUSS BASSETT CORP. TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL THREE (3) DESK UNITS FOR THE RENOVATED DISPATCH CENTER IN THE NORTH OLMSTED POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING FOR THE STATE PURCHASE PRICE OF 870,105.05, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, in conjunction with the renovation of the Police Department facilities for expanded dispatching capacity, the Administration has determined that three (3) new desks are necessary for the Dispatch Center to perform its necessary services; and WHEREAS, the cost of the equipment is $70,105.05, as priced via the State purchasing program; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety and the Chief of Police, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with Ross Bassett Corporation based on the quote attached hereto as Exhibit A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor he and she is hereby authorized to purchase, through the State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, three (3) new desk units from Russ Bassett Corporation, as described in the Quote attached as Exhibit A, at a State purchase cost of $70,105.05. Further, if necessary, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter / Ordinances. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately to coordinate the desk installation with the ongoing Dispatch Renovation Project scheduled to be completed by 1/1/25; and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
