CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2024 -110 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO REQUEST <br />PROPOSALS FOR ENGINEER SERVICES, AS REQUIRED BY <br />THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ODOT), TO <br />PERFORM INDEPENDENT, THIRD -PARTY CONSULTATION,• <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO <br />APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRM SELECTED IN THE RFP <br />PROCESS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Mayor and the Director of Economic <br />and Community Development that Council authorize the City to retain the services of an <br />engineer to perform independent, third -party consulting services, as recently required by <br />the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), in conjunction with the Lorain Road <br />Street Resurfacing Project; and <br />WHEREAS, that this Council, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 111 of the <br />North Olmsted Codified Ordinances, is required to authorize an RFP process to select the <br />most qualified firm to provide engineering services; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to so authorize requests for proposals <br />from engineering professionals and/or firms most qualified to serve as the City's <br />professional, independent consultant, providing services required by ODOT to review the <br />design and consulting services performed in connection with the Lorain Road Street <br />Resurfacing Project, and further to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with <br />the firm selected in the RFP process upon approval by the Board of Control. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be <br />and he is hereby authorized to request proposals in accordance with the formal RFP <br />process from firms or individuals qualified to serve as professional engineering <br />consultants in connection with the Lorain Road Street Resurfacing Project. A copy of the <br />said Request for Proposals is on file in the office of the Director of Economic and <br />Community Development. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized, upon approval of <br />the Board of Control, to enter into an agreement or agreements with the engineering firm <br />selected in the RFP process.
