B.02. Compensatory Time Us&Schedultne. Employees may have the right to take compensatory <br />time when the time off does not interfere with the operation of the Police Department. The taking <br />off of such compensatory time shall be subject to the approval of the Police Chief or his designee. <br />Compensatory time shall be taken in a one (1) hour minimum block and <br />thereafter in one-half (1/2) hour increments, except at the start or end of a shift. Half (1/2) hour <br />increments may be used at the start or end of the shift. Compensatory time off shall not be denied <br />due to overtime costs to the Employer. Employees shall allow at least forty-eight (48) hours notice, <br />except in an emergency situation, with regard to taking compensatory time off. The Employer, at <br />its discretion, may waive the forty-eight (48) hour notice requirement. The Employer shall <br />attempt to find a replacement, if need on shift, for use of the employee's <br />compensatory time before the employee is asked to find his/her replacement for his/her hours of <br />work. (Relocated from 6.09) <br />Except as otherwise specifically restricted by this agreement, the Employer retains all rights to <br />manage the administration of compensatory time under federal law, which includes but is not <br />limited to, the right to payoff compensatory time banks. <br />8.03. Compensatory Time Payout at Separation. An employee or his estate shall be paid for <br />unused, accumulated compensatory time at the time of separation at his current hourly <br />rate of pay for his workweek plus longevity if applicable. <br />of ongsfshi& (Relocated above) <br />6-448.04.
