Councilman Madden:
Second.
Council President Brossard:
Motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review for
Resolution 2024-118 made by Councilman Scarl, seconded by Councilman Madden. Roll call,
please.
Council Clerk:
Mr. Scarl: Yes
Mr. Madden: Yes
Mr. Shymske: Yes
Mr. Limpert: Yes, with comment. I mean, we typically don't want to not review new contracts,
but with the system failing and it being the same vendor and we have an upgrade, then I'm in
favor.
Ms. Gilchrist: Yes
Council President Brossard:
That motion passes by a vote of 5-0. If there is anyone in the audience who wishes to address
Council regarding Resolution 2024-118, please approach the podium now.
Jeff Sturgeon:
I didn't know that our "Are You Ok" system had a failure with that, I'm sorry to hear that. I
know that that is something that my mother used and she really liked it, I'm glad that we had
that. So if this is something that we can use to replace that because that did fail. That system
was a great system. When did that fail?
Finance Director Copfer:
Mr. Chair.
Council President Brossard:
Go ahead.
Finance Director Copfer:
It stopped working a couple of weeks ago, but we are doing it manually. So there is no loss of
touch every day, to the people that are on that program still. So it's a 20 -year-old program and
this will upgrade it and enhance it to the latest version, and also that would then allow us to
add on the Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township seniors as well for that program. So it's still
working, but it's being manually called currently.
11-19-24 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 24
