CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 123 By: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE ONE (1) NEW 2025 INTERNATIONAL MODEL HV507 SALT TR UC%AT A COST OF $95,192.00 FROM RUSH TRUCK CENTERS THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, in 2021 this Council via Ord. 2021-33 authorized the purchase of this truck at a price of $77,420.00; and WHEREAS, the truck was not immediately available due to supply issues during the COVID-19 pandemic and, having become available in 2024 as a model year 2025, there is now a cost increase to $95,192.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the City acquire one (1) new 2025 Model HV507 Salt Truck from Rush Truck Centers / International at a cost of $95,192.00 for use by the Service Department for snow removal services as established and quoted on the State Purchase Program; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said equipment through the State Purchase Program and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any contract documents required for such expenditure with Rush Truck Centers / International. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOR TH OLMSTED, COUNTY OFCUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to purchase through the State Purchase Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new 2025 Model HV507 Salt Truck from Rush Truck Centers / International at a cost of $95,192.00, which is described in the quotes and specifications on file in the Service Department and attached hereto as Exhibit A. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute contract documents, as necessary, to effectuate the State Purchase Program. Any contracts executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that immediate authorization will expedite prompt delivery after a multiple year delay; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of
