Mayor Jones:
Mr. President, I introduce place on first reading and request suspension of the rule requiring
three readings and formal committee review.
Councilwoman Hemann:
Mr. President.
Council President Brossard:
Councilwoman.
Councilwoman Hemann:
Thank you. I'd like to request suspension of the rules and three readings. This was discussed in
Caucus this evening, and it is an annual maintenance contract for our North Olmsted Fire
Department and in the best interest of our residents for their safety, and I ask for a second.
Councilman Madden:
Second.
Council President Brossard:
Motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review for
Resolution 2024-124 is made by Councilwoman Hemann and seconded by Councilman Madden.
Roll call, please.
Council Clerk:
Ms. Hemann: Yes
Mr. Madden: Yes
Mr. Shymske: Yes
Ms. Gilchrist: Yes
Mr. Glassburn: Yes, a brief comment. It wouldn't be me if I didn't say that annual contracts
shouldn't be surprises on first reading.
Mr. Limpert: Yes, with comment. I think I've said this in the past, too. With the additional
communities coming on board, it'd be interesting to see if we can work some kind of longer
term or more beneficial contract with the new parties and I'm always excited about extending
this beyond a one year. It's just worth noting.
Council President Brossard:
That motion passes by a vote of 6-0. If there is anyone in the audience who wishes to address
Council regarding Resolution 2024-124, please approach the podium now.
Councilwoman Hemann:
Mr. President.
12-17-24 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 18
