Recreation Public Parks and Buildings Committee
Councilwoman Hemann:
I do not, but if I could have a moment of privilege please
Council President Brossard:
Of course.
Councilwoman Hemann:
I'd like to really thank our Director of Recreation and Public Engagement, Tim Pinchek, and his
team, along with our City Engineer, for all of the hard work that they have put into Phase 1 of
our park, which, as the Mayor announced, will be starting soon; and we're starting to discuss
the Phase 2 already, and that's just very exciting, I think, for our City. It's a long time coming.
So, thank you, Director. Thank you.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Councilman Limpert, Vice Chair of the Finance Committee, do you have a report this
evening?
Finance Committee
Councilman Limpert:
do have a report this evening Mr. President. The Finance Committee met on the 7th of
January, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Present were Committee members Limpert and Scarl, Council
members Brossard, Gilchrist, Hemann, Shymske, Madden, the Mayor, Assistant Law Director,
Finance Director, Service Director, and guests.
On the agenda was Ordinance 2024-128, which was an Ordinance to make an
appropriation for capital improvements for the City of North Olmsted for the year
ending December 31, 2025. The administration noted that they had requested that
these capital improvements be approved so we can start them in first quarter. The rest
of the capital improvements will be addressed as part of our permanent budget.
Improvements consisted of street improvements, which we do annually. That dollar
item is increased from $1.2 to $1.665 from last year, and this is to accomplish all of the
improvements recommended by the street survey, to get us in alignment with that
recommendation. $120,000 for traffic signalization at Walter and Lorain, and that's to
facilitate better signalization and safety where the new elementary school campus is
being built, and the land improvement requests to remove sound barriers on Stearns
Extension where the Forest property will begin construction, and that's $90,000. That
was recommended for approval by a vote of 2-0 and the meeting concluded at 7:09 p.m.
Mr. President this concludes my report.
Council President Brossard:
Councilman Scarl, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health, and Welfare Committee, do you have
you have a report this evening?
Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee
Councilman Scarl:
O1-07-25 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 3
