CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - 33 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />RECREATION AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT TO APPLY FOR AN <br />ENHANCED MOBILITY PROGRAM GRANT (SECTION 5310) <br />FROM THE NORTHEAST OHIO AREAWIDE COORDINATING <br />AGENCY (NOACA) FOR A NEW TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE <br />FOR THE SENIOR CENTER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency's (NOACA), <br />mission is to strengthen regional cohesion, preserve existing infrastructure, and build a <br />sustainable multimodal transportation system to support economic development and <br />enhance quality of life in Northeast Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration seeks to apply for an Enhanced Mobility (Section <br />53 10) Program grant from NOACA for a new transportation vehicle for the Senior Center <br />in 2026, with a matching fund requirement of twenty percent (20%); and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Recreation <br />and Public Engagement to apply for said grant from NOACA. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to make application for NOACA (Section 53 10) for Program grant <br />funding for enhanced mobility, specifically a new transportation vehicle, including <br />commitment of twenty percent (20%). <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to accept the said <br />NOACA (Section 5310) Program funding, if awarded, on behalf of the City of North <br />Olmsted, including commitment of 20% matching funds, and to execute a contract, if <br />required, as well as other contract documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and in <br />order to meet the grant deadline of April 11, 2025; and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
