Mayor Jones:
Mr. President, I introduce and place on first reading
Councilman Scarl:
Mr. President.
Council President Brossard:
Councilman Scarl.
Councilman Scarl:
1 am in receipt of the signed Fiscal Officer's Certificate... last one.
Council Clerk:
Resolution 2025-33. A Resolution authorizing the Director of Recreation and Public
Engagement to apply for an Enhanced Mobility Program Grant (Section 5310) from the
Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) for a new transportation vehicle for
the Senior Center, and declaring an emergency.
Mayor Jones:
Mr. President, I introduce and place on first reading and request suspension of the rule
requiring three readings and formal committee review.
Councilwoman Hemann:
Mr. President.
Council President Brossard:
Councilwoman Hemann.
Councilwoman Hemann:
I'd like to make a motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings because this was heard
in Caucus this evening, and 2025-33 provides for the City to pursue a grant to purchase our own
eight passenger utility van with wheelchair accessibility, similar to those used by the Senior
Transportation Corporation, that we contract. The deadline is April 11t', and unfortunately we
will not be in session. This is a 20% match program, and with the cost of vehicles, not knowing
what they're going to be tomorrow, next week, I think that it is in the best interest of our
seniors to move forward with this as quickly as possible and apply for this grant, and I'd like to
ask for a second.
Councilman Scarl:
Second.
04-01-25 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 15
