CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO.2025 — 43 By: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A PRESER VA TION CO VENANTA GREEMENT WITH THE STATEHISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE, AS A CONDITION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SAVEAMERICA'S TREASURES GRANT FUNDING FOR IMPROVEMENT OF OLD TOWNHALL. WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted was awarded $271,000.00 grant-in-aid financial assistance by the National Park Services of the United States Department of the Interior for improvement of Old Town Hall; and WHEREAS, said grant funding is conditioned upon the City of North Olmsted's execution of a Preservation Covenant Agreement with the State Preservation Office of the Ohio History Connection, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A, and imposes maintenance obligations for a term of fifteen (15) years; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a fifteen (15) year Preservation Covenant Agreement with the State Preservation Office of the Ohio History Connection, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A, in order to satisfy grant funding eligibility requirements imposed by National Park Services of the United States Department of the Interior for the Save America's Treasures program improvement of Old Town Hall and which also provides for maintenance and other obligations. SECTION 2: That this Preservation Covenant Agreement is and will be entered under Ohio Revised Code Section 5301.07 for the purpose of preserving Old Town Hall, a building that is important culturally, historically, and architecturally. SECTION 3: That the Mayor is further hereby authorized, directed, and empowered to take such action and execute and deliver such documentation as may be necessary and appropriate to record and effectuate the Preservation Covenant Agreement, and in such form as deemed to be in the best interests of the City of North Olmsted. SECTION 4: That the Engineer of the City of North Olmsted is hereby authorized and directed, if necessary and required by the State Preservation Office of the Ohio History Connection, to cause said Preservation Covenant Agreement to be recorded in the Office ofthe Cuyahoga County Recorder / Fiscal Officer.
