CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2025 — 43 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />PRESER VA TION CO VENANTA GREEMENT WITH THE STATEHISTORIC <br />PRESERVATION OFFICE, AS A CONDITION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR THE <br />SAVEAMERICA'S TREASURES GRANT FUNDING FOR IMPROVEMENT <br />OF OLD TOWNHALL. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted was awarded $271,000.00 grant-in-aid financial <br />assistance by the National Park Services of the United States Department of the Interior for <br />improvement of Old Town Hall; and <br />WHEREAS, said grant funding is conditioned upon the City of North Olmsted's execution of <br />a Preservation Covenant Agreement with the State Preservation Office of the Ohio History <br />Connection, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A, and imposes maintenance obligations for a <br />term of fifteen (15) years; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a fifteen (15) year <br />Preservation Covenant Agreement with the State Preservation Office of the Ohio History <br />Connection, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A, in order to satisfy grant funding eligibility <br />requirements imposed by National Park Services of the United States Department of the Interior for <br />the Save America's Treasures program improvement of Old Town Hall and which also provides for <br />maintenance and other obligations. <br />SECTION 2: That this Preservation Covenant Agreement is and will be entered under Ohio <br />Revised Code Section 5301.07 for the purpose of preserving Old Town Hall, a building that is <br />important culturally, historically, and architecturally. <br />SECTION 3: That the Mayor is further hereby authorized, directed, and empowered to take <br />such action and execute and deliver such documentation as may be necessary and appropriate to <br />record and effectuate the Preservation Covenant Agreement, and in such form as deemed to be in the <br />best interests of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 4: That the Engineer of the City of North Olmsted is hereby authorized and <br />directed, if necessary and required by the State Preservation Office of the Ohio History Connection, <br />to cause said Preservation Covenant Agreement to be recorded in the Office ofthe Cuyahoga County <br />Recorder / Fiscal Officer. <br />
