CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - 58 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />RETROACTIVELY TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH FLOCK <br />GROUP, INC. TO PURCHASE FIVE (5) CAMERAS AND RELATED <br />MONITORING SERVICE FOR CAMERAS TO BE INSTALLED AT <br />NORTH OLMSTED COMMUNITY PARK, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has utilized Flock cameras in and around the City <br />of North Olmsted to aid in the investigation of criminal activity; and <br />WHEREAS, the areas around the public restrooms (including the restrooms) at the North <br />Olmsted Community Park repeatedly have been vandalized, causing thousands of dollars of <br />damage at the expense of the residents of the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, through the Cuyahoga County Community Development Supplemental <br />Grant, the City can acquire five (5) cameras and monitoring services from Flock Group, Inc. to <br />deter criminal activity at and around the public restrooms at the park and to aid in the <br />apprehension of those who vandalize community property, all at no initial cost to the City; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to meet a revised grant reimbursement deadline of May 31, 2025 <br />which was announced to the City on May 22, 2025, the Mayor, with the advice of the Director of <br />Law, executed a contract to purchase the camera system for $15,000.00, contingent upon this <br />Council's retroactive authorization of said action and purchase; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council, in accordance with the <br />recommendation of the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement and Director of Law, to <br />ratify the purchase of five (5) Flock cameras and to authorize the Mayor retroactively to enter <br />into a contract with Flock Group, Inc., and to execute all other necessary documents, for the <br />purchase. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council ratifies the actions of the Mayor and further authorizes <br />the Mayor to retroactively enter into a contract with Flock Group, Inc. in order to effectuate the <br />purchase of the said camera equipment, at no initial cost to the City. The contract and other <br />related documents are on file with the Director of Recreation and Community Engagement. <br />
