CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2025 - 48 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE <br />AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALIZATION AND <br />PAVEMENT MARKINGS FOR THE INTERSECTION OF WALTER AND <br />LORAIN ROADS, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE <br />WITH THE DIVISION OF ENGINEERING, AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD <br />OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST <br />AND BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, in connection with the construction of the new <br />North Olmsted School District's PreK-5 building at the current Birch Elementary School site, <br />must update and revise traffic signalization and pavement markings at the intersection of Lorain <br />and Walter Roads and specifically install the westbound left turn signal for the new school <br />driveway; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Economic and <br />Community Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide construction <br />services for the installation of traffic control signals and pavement markings at Walter and <br />Lorain Roads, as set forth in specifications on file with the City Engineer, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with <br />the lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide construction services for <br />the installation of traffic control signals and pavement markings at Walter and Lorain Roads, in <br />accordance with the plans and specifications on file; and further that, upon approval by the Board <br />of Control, the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into such a contract and execute <br />same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
