CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2025 - 76 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE, MONITORING SERVICE AND <br />INSTALLATION OF THREE (3) ADDITIONAL FLOCK CAMERAS FROM <br />FLOCK GROUP, INC. TO BE INSTALLED AT NORTH OLMSTED <br />COMMUNITY PARK, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Flock Safety is a public safety operating system that captures objective <br />evidence, makes it actionable, and delivers it directly to the Division of Police to prevent and <br />solve criminal activity; and <br />WHEREAS, an implemented Flock Safety system is designed to provide a greater level <br />of safety and security to both neighborhood and business districts; and <br />WHEREAS, currently there are over six hundred (600) Flock cameras in use in the <br />Greater Cleveland area; and <br />WHEREAS, Flock cameras have been instrumental in assisting local police departments <br />in solving crimes committed within their jurisdictions; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council previously authorized the purchase and installation of Flock <br />cameras at North Olmsted Community Park, however that contract was limited by a specific <br />dollar amount and a limited number of cameras. Accordingly, a new contract is required; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Recreation and Public <br />Engagement to proceed with the purchase, installation and monitoring service of three (3) <br />additional Flock cameras for the North Olmsted Community Park concession facilities to <br />monitor surrounding areas for the safety of our residents and to prevent crime and vandalism as <br />part of Phase 1 of the North Olmsted Park renovation project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into a Flock Safety <br />Amendment with Flock Group, Inc. for the purchase of three (3) additional cameras at a cost of <br />$9,000.00, all as set forth in the Flock Safety agreement on file in the Department of Recreation <br />and Public Engagement. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to most <br />expeditiously obtain necessary services and equipment to assist in safeguarding residents and for <br />
