CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO.2025 - 79 BY: Mayor Jones AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 139.99(b) OF CHAPTER 139 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DIVISION OF POLICE - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY," FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING THE POSITION OF DISPATCH SUPERVISOR TO THE DIVISION OF POLICE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends and seeks amendment of the Organizational Chart for the purpose of adding the position of Dispatch Supervisor to the Division of Police within the Department of Public Safety; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the additional position of Dispatch Supervisor is to increase the administrative and management personnel within the Division of Police, in order to increase capacity and accountability as the North Olmsted Dispatch Center prepares for additional staffing to provide services in the City of Berea and Bay Village, as a non -bargaining manager reporting to the Captain; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety, as well as Police Chief, and the desire of Council to amend Section 139.99(b) for the purpose of adding the position of Dispatch Supervisor to the Division of Police within the Department of Public Safety. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 139.99(b) "Division of Police - Department of Public Safety" which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in the attached Exhibit B. SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re -codification. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason to establish the additional position in order to delivery critical services in a timely fashion; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
