CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO.2025 - 79 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 139.99(b) OF CHAPTER 139 OF <br />THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DIVISION OF POLICE - <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY," FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING <br />THE POSITION OF DISPATCH SUPERVISOR TO THE DIVISION OF <br />POLICE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends and seeks amendment of the Organizational Chart <br />for the purpose of adding the position of Dispatch Supervisor to the Division of Police within the <br />Department of Public Safety; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the additional position of Dispatch Supervisor is to increase <br />the administrative and management personnel within the Division of Police, in order to increase <br />capacity and accountability as the North Olmsted Dispatch Center prepares for additional staffing <br />to provide services in the City of Berea and Bay Village, as a non -bargaining manager reporting <br />to the Captain; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety, as well as Police <br />Chief, and the desire of Council to amend Section 139.99(b) for the purpose of adding the position <br />of Dispatch Supervisor to the Division of Police within the Department of Public Safety. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 139.99(b) "Division of Police - Department of Public Safety" <br />which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance <br />and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended and, as amended, shall <br />read in its entirety as set forth in the attached Exhibit B. <br />SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with this <br />Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or <br />inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re -codification. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason to <br />establish the additional position in order to delivery critical services in a timely fashion; and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
