Kleem <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR EMERGENCY POLICE AND FIRE DISPATCHING SERVICES <br />FOR 2026, 2027 AND 2028, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Administration, including the Chiefs of Police and Fire, have investigated, <br />analyzed and evaluated options and alternatives in providing emergency police and fire dispatch <br />services; and <br />WHEREAS, such due diligence has been completed, and it is the unanimous <br />recommendation of the Administration that the City of Berea enter into an Agreement with the <br />City of North Olmsted for emergency police and fire dispatch services for the City of Berea; and <br />WHEREAS, the annual cost for emergency dispatch services, paid in equal quarterly <br />installments in 2026 shall be $455,436, with a 3% increase effective January 1, 2027, and <br />January 1, 2028. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Berea, County of <br />Cuyahoga and State of Ohio: <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into the Agreement <br />attached hereto and fully incorporated herein as Exhibit "A" with the City of North Olmsted for <br />emergency police and fire dispatch services for the City of Berea at the annual cost of $455,436 in <br />2026, with a 3% increase effective January 1, 2027, and a subsequent 3% increase effective <br />January 1, 2028. <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute any agreements, documents and <br />related papers necessary to effectuate the purposes of this Ordinance to effectively and <br />efficiently provide for emergency dispatch services in the City as part of a regional dispatch <br />program. <br />SECTIOIy_, That it is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in <br />such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
