EXHIBITA <br />CHAPTER 145 <br />Department of Recreation and Public Engagement <br />145.01 Establishment. <br />145.02 Director of Recreation and Public Engagement. <br />145.03 Administrative Secretary. <br />145.04 Division of Parks and Recreation. <br />145.05 Division of Springvale. <br />145.06 Division of Aging. <br />145.07 Division of Juvenile Diversion. <br />145.99 Organization of the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement. <br />145.01 ESTABLISHMENT. <br />Pursuant to the authority of the Charter, Article V Section 1, there is hereby established <br />the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement. The staffing of the Department of <br />Recreation and Public Engagement is hereby established and is reflected in the <br />organizational chart for the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement contained in <br />Section 145.99(a), which is incorporated herein as if fully rewritten. The Mayor shall <br />establish the compensation of all employees of the Department within the salary ranges <br />established by City Council, to the extent that such compensation is not otherwise <br />established by contract, or federal, state or local law. (Ord. 2022-3. Passed 1-4-22.) <br />145.02 DIRECTOR OF RECREATION AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT. <br />The Department of Recreation and Public Engagement shall be headed by the Director of <br />Recreation and Public Engagement. The Director is responsible for, among other things, <br />strategically positioning, organizing, directing, supervising and accepting accountability for <br />Parks & Recreation, Springvale Ballroom & Golf Course, Division of Aging, and Juvenile <br />Diversion divisions as well as the Oxcart Pantry. <br />(a) Appointment, Term, Removal. The Director shall be a full time employee appointed <br />by the Mayor, which appointment and term shall be governed by Charter Art. III, §5(a). The <br />Mayor may remove the Director with the concurrence of two-thirds (2/3) of the members <br />of Council eligible to vote. <br />(b) Duties. <br />(1) The Director shall oversee the operation of the Department of Recreation and <br />Public Engagement. <br />
