EXHIBITA CHAPTER 145 Department of Recreation and Public Engagement 145.01 Establishment. 145.02 Director of Recreation and Public Engagement. 145.03 Administrative Secretary. 145.04 Division of Parks and Recreation. 145.05 Division of Springvale. 145.06 Division of Aging. 145.07 Division of Juvenile Diversion. 145.99 Organization of the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement. 145.01 ESTABLISHMENT. Pursuant to the authority of the Charter, Article V Section 1, there is hereby established the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement. The staffing of the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement is hereby established and is reflected in the organizational chart for the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement contained in Section 145.99(a), which is incorporated herein as if fully rewritten. The Mayor shall establish the compensation of all employees of the Department within the salary ranges established by City Council, to the extent that such compensation is not otherwise established by contract, or federal, state or local law. (Ord. 2022-3. Passed 1-4-22.) 145.02 DIRECTOR OF RECREATION AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT. The Department of Recreation and Public Engagement shall be headed by the Director of Recreation and Public Engagement. The Director is responsible for, among other things, strategically positioning, organizing, directing, supervising and accepting accountability for Parks & Recreation, Springvale Ballroom & Golf Course, Division of Aging, and Juvenile Diversion divisions as well as the Oxcart Pantry. (a) Appointment, Term, Removal. The Director shall be a full time employee appointed by the Mayor, which appointment and term shall be governed by Charter Art. III, §5(a). The Mayor may remove the Director with the concurrence of two-thirds (2/3) of the members of Council eligible to vote. (b) Duties. (1) The Director shall oversee the operation of the Department of Recreation and Public Engagement.
