CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2025 -101 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO APPLY TO THE NORTHEAST OHIO <br />AREA WIDE COORDINATING AGENCY ("NOACA') FOR <br />TRANSPORTATIONFOR LIVABLE COMMUNITIES INITL4TIVE ("TLCI') <br />IMPLEMENTATION GRANT FUNDS, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE A <br />CONTRACT IFREQUIRED, FINALL YA UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO EXECUTE ALL <br />OTHER NON -CONTRACT DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br />RECEIPT OF THE GRANT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency ("NOACA") is offering <br />grant funds to implement Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative ("TLCI") recommended <br />projects, which projects improve the transportation network and strengthen community livability; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, NOACA grant funds, if awarded to the City of North Olmsted, will be used to <br />implement recommendations from the TLCI plan for the Lorain Road Multi -use Connector, to wit: a <br />.85 mile (4485 feet) multipurpose trail and / or sidewalk improvement on the north side Lorain Road <br />from Stearns Road to Porter Rd.; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant, if awarded will require a 20% local match; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Economic and <br />Community Development to apply for said NOACA grant funds; to further authorize the Mayor to <br />accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a contract if required; and to finally authorize the <br />Director of Economic and Community Development to execute all other non -contract documents <br />necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be and hereby is <br />authorized to apply for Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative Implementation grant <br />funding from the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency and that this Council approves the <br />use of funds as a local match, as appropriated pursuant to separate Appropriation Ordinance. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to accept the said grant, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required; and that the <br />
