Contract for The Provision of Municipal Engineering <br />Consulting Services to The City of North Olmsted, Ohio <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />j) Be in charge of engineering and other work to be furnished hereunder as the same may be <br />authorized by the Mayor, City Council and/or the Director of Economic and Community <br />Development, with the right and obligation of calling upon any of the personnel and facilities of its <br />firm as needed in the performance of said work. <br />Section 2. The Engineer shall furnish services to this City, as required by the City, through the Mayor <br />or Director of Economic and Community Development , including the following services covered by the <br />compensation as described in the annual retainer below. Services involving the use of additional CVE staff <br />members shall be compensated as described with Section 3 of this agreement: <br />a) Act as a technical consultant and advisor on engineering matters referred to the Engineer by the <br />Mayor, the City Council, and Administrative Department heads upon direction of the Director of <br />Economic and Community Development. <br />b) Advise the Mayor and Administrative Departments in matters relating to resident's problems <br />pertaining to engineering as they may relate to public sewers, public water supplies, drainage <br />patterns, FEMA flood hazard FIRM map inquiries and building grades. <br />c) Provide review and routine communication/correspondence with other agencies such as the <br />Ohio Dept. of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, the Ohio/United States <br />Environmental Protection Agency, Ohio Water Development Board, Ohio Commission on <br />Environmental Quality, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Cuyahoga County Dept. of Public <br />Works, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. <br />d) Assist the Mayor, the Planning Commission, the Chief Building Official, the Service Department <br />and other municipal departments, boards or commissions, as directed, on municipal engineering <br />and FEMA National Flood Insurance Program matters. <br />e) Act as the FEMA Floodplain Administrator. <br />f) The Engineer or Assistant Engineer shall attend Planning and Design Commission and Building <br />& Zoning Board of Appeals meetings and attend City Council or Council Committee or other Board <br />or Commission meetings as requested by the Director of Economic and Community Development. <br />g) Preparation of preliminary sketches and estimates, concerning the advisability of proceeding <br />with public improvements such as pavement improvements, sanitary sewer systems, storm water <br />collection, water distribution, or other infrastructure improvements contemplated by the Mayor, <br />Council and/or the Director of Economic and Community Development. <br />h) Perform such other duties as is normally required of Consulting Municipal Engineers not <br />requiring the use of additional staff members. <br />i) The Engineer shall be present for two half -days per week at City Hall and available via telephone <br />or electronic means at all other times. <br />E <br />
