CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2025 -122 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A DONATION <br />OF $5000.00 FROM NORTH OLMSTED VFW POST 7647 TO SUPPORT THE <br />DIVISIONS OFPOLICE AND FIRE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, two (2) checks at $2,500.00 each were presented to the City of North Olmsted <br />at the annual Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year Banquet on November 12, 2025. The local <br />VFW Post, which hosts the annual banquet, has established a 501(c)3 charitable organization and <br />desires to support the divisions with the donations, as an expression of thanks for their bravery, <br />service, and dedication to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, said donation, according to the Director of Public Safety, has a value of Five <br />Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), and therefore the Mayor may not, pursuant to Section 131.02 of the <br />Administrative Code, accept the donation without specific authorization from City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to authorize the Mayor to accept the said donation for use <br />in the North Olmsted Divisions of Fire and Police. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to accept a donation of Five Thousand <br />Dollars ($5,000.00) from North Olmsted VFW Post 7647, to be used in the North Olmsted <br />Divisions of Police and Fire. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that immediate authorization will have benefits to the Divisions of Police and Fire; <br />and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ,C¢.�x.�0-?�c .2, �D— <br />ATTEST: <br />L&7-1- - <br />BEATRICE TAYLO <br />hl� <br />Clerk of Council <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: <br />LOCIS J.
