Will the Clerk please read the issue before Council this evening? <br />Council Clerk: <br />Resolution 2026-7. A Resolution approving and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Joint <br />Economic Development District ("JEDD") contract by and between the Township of Olmsted and <br />the City of North Olmsted, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. <br />Council President Brossard: <br />Thank you. As a reminder to Council, this is a Public Hearing, we are here to listen to public <br />comments. You may ask questions and follow up to audience comments, but there will be a <br />committee meeting scheduled in the near future for more in-depth questioning. <br />Mayor Jones, do you have any remarks with regard to this legislation? <br />Mayor Jones: <br />Thank you, Mr. President, I do. A JEDD agreement which was established in the State of Ohio in <br />1993 by the Ohio General Assembly, enables Townships, Cities, and Villages to cooperatively <br />address concerns associated with economic development, diminishing local revenues, and <br />growth pressure. A JEDD provides a local community approach to solving economic development <br />issues by allowing local governments to enter into legal agreements that have the potential to <br />increase revenues and create jobs. JEDD contractual agreements, which vary by jurisdiction, <br />serve as significant economic development tools for local communities in the State of Ohio. This <br />JEDD agreement that is before Council today is concerning the Olmsted Town Center <br />development at the corner of Bagley and Stearns in Olmsted Township. The total projected real <br />
