CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 45 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A FIVE <br />YEAR SERVICE CONTRACT WITH STRYKER MEDICAL FOR THE <br />MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S <br />STRYKER MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE PRICE OF $137,047.23, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted Fire Department has specialized emergency <br />medical equipment that requires routine maintenance and repair to ensure its performance: and <br />WHEREAS, a maintenance agreement will cover essential equipment utilized in the Fire <br />Department including cots, cot loading systems, cardiac monitors, stair chairs, and LUCAS CPR <br />devices, and <br />WHEREAS, Stryker is the only vendor capable of servicing the equipment covered by the <br />maintenance agreement. There are no other certified vendors available; and <br />WHEREAS, by using a longer contract term, the City will ensure continued performance <br />of its Stryker equipment, while locking in a discount price and avoiding annual price increases that <br />average three percent (3%); and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety and Fire Chief that <br />the specialized maintenance and repair service be provided by Stryker pursuant to its attached <br />contract at a cost of $137,047.23; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into <br />a five (5) year contract with Stryker to provide maintenance and repair services for said medical <br />equipment for the North Olmsted Fire Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to enter into a five (5) year <br />service contract with Stryker for the period May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2031, in the amount of <br />$137,047.23 in order to provide maintenance and repair services for emergency medical equipment <br />for the North Olmsted Fire Department. The contract shall be in form and substance substantially <br />similar to the attached contract, marked as Exhibit A, subject to such amendments as may be <br />required to protect and not adverse to the City's interest, as may be recommended by the Director <br />of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that there are time constraints placed upon the quote and the safety equipment is <br />
