CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 46 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF SOLID <br />WASTE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS; AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, UPON APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF <br />CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND <br />BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, the current term of the City's contract with Republic Services for the <br />collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials expires on December 31, 2026; and <br />WHEREAS, all contract extensions have been granted pursuant to the terms of the <br />contract; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service that the City <br />advertise for bids for a new contract for the collection of trash and recyclable materials effective <br />January 1, 2027, in accordance with the specifications on file in his office; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public <br />Service to solicit bids for the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials in <br />accordance with the specifications on file in his office, and to further authorize the Mayor, <br />following approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide for the collection and disposal of solid <br />waste and recyclable materials, as detailed in the specifications now on file in the Service <br />Department, and that further, the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control is hereby <br />authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest date provided for by law. <br />PASSED: tt..Kd. <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: ($4 Be <br />
