CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO.2026 - 48 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR EXCESS INSURANCE <br />COVERAGE FOR THE CITY HEALTH CARE & HOSPITALIZATION <br />PLANS FOR 2027, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, <br />SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID INSURANCE COVERAGE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted desires to go to market to acquire proposals <br />for excess insurance coverage (aka stop loss coverage) for the City Health Care and <br />Hospitalization Plans in 2027; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Human <br />Resources to solicit proposals for excess / umbrella health insurance coverage and to <br />further authorize the Mayor, upon approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an <br />agreement or agreements for the purchase of said insurance policy with the most qualified <br />firm to perform the services and provide the umbrella insurance at a price that is fair and <br />reasonable to the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STA TE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Human Resources be and she is hereby <br />authorized to solicit or request proposals for a health insurance excess / umbrella policy, in <br />accordance with the specifications now on file in her office and that, upon approval by the <br />Board of Control, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or <br />agreements for said insurance policy with the most qualified firm to provide the umbrella <br />insurance at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest date provided for by law. <br />First Reading: 579 xo, <br />Second Reading.
