CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 55 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND <br />COMMUNITYDEVELOPMENT TO MAKEAPPLICATION ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG'9 AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT ("CDSG") FUNDS FOR PHASE TWO OF THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED OLD TOWN HALL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDS, IF <br />AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY IF REQUIRED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is eligible to apply for additional grant funding <br />administered by Cuyahoga County from the Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") <br />and Community Development Supplemental Grant ("CDSG") Programs, which programs award <br />funds for projects on a competitive basis upon review of community development needs related to <br />health and welfare; and <br />WHEREAS, based on grant requirements, the administration requests authorization to <br />apply for funding for Phase Two improvements to the interior of Old Town Hall to undertake <br />restorative work including, but not limited to, new restroom and auditorium finishes, restoration <br />of the floors and utility upgrades; and <br />WHEREAS, the CDBG funding request is $150,000.00 and the CDSG funding request is <br />$50,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Economic and <br />Community Development to apply for such funding and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor <br />to execute a contract required to accept such funding. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be and he is <br />hereby authorized to apply for Community Development Block Grant / Community Development <br />Supplemental Grant funding from Cuyahoga County for the North Olmsted Town Hall <br />Improvement Project Phase Two. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and she hereby is, authorized to accept the said funding, <br />if awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract with Cuyahoga <br />County, if required. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />
