CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO 2026 - 49 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE AN <br />APPLICA TION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NOR TH OLMSTED TO <br />PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION STATE <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT AND/OR LOCAL TRANSPORTATION <br />IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDS, IF AWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE A <br />CONTRACT AS REQUIRED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Public Works Commission offers opportunities for municipal <br />participation and funding for capital improvement and transportation improvement <br />programs; and <br />WHEREAS, the administration intends to apply for funding the Lorain Road - <br />Columbia Road Intersection Realignment; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to apply for such <br />funding and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor to execute a contract required to <br />accept such funding. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to apply for funding from <br />the Ohio Public Works Commission in order for the City of North Olmsted to participate in <br />capital and transportation improvement programs. <br />SECTION 2. That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to accept the said <br />funding, if awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, and to execute a contract, if <br />required. <br />SECTION 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for <br />the further reason that deadlines are imposed by the Ohio Public Works Commission in order <br />for the project to be considered for funding, and further provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
