CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 54 <br />By: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE AUDITOR OF STATE AND CLARK, SCHAEFER, <br />RACKET & CO., CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, PROVIDING FOR THE <br />LATTER TO SERVE AS INDEPENDENT PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS FOR THE <br />A UDITOR OF STATES' ANNUAL A UDITS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FOR THE YEARS 2026-2030 COMMENCING IN 2027. <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code § 115.56 provides that either at the request of the <br />public office or if the State determines that it shall not perform the audit of the public office itself, <br />the Auditor of State shall select an independent certified public accountant to conduct the audits <br />of the public office in lieu of the Auditor of State; and <br />WHEREAS, the Auditor of State informed the Director of Finance that its labor scheduling <br />is presently such that it is unable to perform and complete audits of the City of North Olmsted in <br />a timely manner and that accordingly it must arrange for a contract with a certified independent <br />public accountant to perform audits of the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Finance agrees with the Auditor of State's recommendation <br />to enter into a contract with Clark, Shaefer, Hackett & Co. to serve as independent certified public <br />accountants for the said five-year term. The City of North Olmsted has been pleased with the <br />quality of work, professionalism, and timeliness of completion of audits with this firm and does <br />not have any objection to extending this agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement <br />with the Auditor of State and Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co., which will serve as independent <br />public accountants for the Auditor of State's annual audits of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: Q !/ <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: <br />
