CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO.2026 - 75 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MA FOR, ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY PLANNING <br />COMMISSION TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />ASSOCIATED WITH THE UNIFIED ZONING CODE PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, County Planning provides planning services in the areas of land use, <br />zoning and project planning to advance social, economic, and environmental health of <br />Cuyahoga County and its communities; and <br />WHEREAS, County Planning has convened the Cuyahoga County Unified Zoning <br />Code Update Consortium, a collaborative body of participating municipalities facilitated <br />by County Planning to guide the development, adoption and ongoing improvement of a <br />Unified Zoning Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Uniform Zoning Code will serve as a comprehensive zoning <br />ordinance and map, held and maintained by County Planning and adopted and administered <br />by individual communities, designed to modernize zoning regulations and unlock <br />development opportunities while preserving local administrative authority; and <br />WHEREAS, North Olmsted has expressed an interest in participating in the UZC, <br />recognizing that participation in the Consortium represents a substantially more cost <br />effective approach to zoning modernization than independent zoning reform; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to so authorize the Mayor to enter into <br />an Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission to provide the services <br />identified herein at a cost of $25,000.00. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into an <br />agreement with the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission to participate in the County <br />Planning Commission program described herein and as further described in the contract <br />attached as Exhibit A hereto and incorporated by reference. The final contract shall be in <br />form and substance substantially similar to said contract with only such changes to be <br />hereinafter made in said contract as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are <br />approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being <br />substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the <br />Agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the Agreement by the Director of Law. <br />
