CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 77 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC <br />AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO SOLICIT STATEMENTS <br />OF QUALIFICATIONS (S.O.Q.) FROM QUALIFIED FIRMS TO <br />PROVIDE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE OLD <br />TOWN HALL PHASE TWO RENOVATION PROJECT AND <br />FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL <br />OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE FIRM SELECTED IN THE REQUEST FOR <br />QUALIFICATION (R.F.Q.) PROCESS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 112 (Personal Service Contracts) outlines procedure for the <br />City to solicit Statements of Qualifications (S.O.Q.) from qualified individuals or firms, <br />which process allows for competitive proposals based on relative qualifications and allows <br />the Board of Control to select the best qualified personal service provider; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Economic and Community Development requests that <br />this Council authorize the process outlined in Chapter 112 of the North Olmsted Codified <br />Ordinances to solicit S.O.Q.'s in the R.F.Q. process in order to provide for Architectural <br />Services for the City of North Olmsted for the Old Town Hall Phase Two Renovation <br />Project; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Economic <br />and Community Development, it is the desire of this Council to authorize and initiate the <br />R.F.Q. process to select a professional firm to serve as the architectural design professional <br />for the Old Town Hall Phase 2 Renovation Project and, upon selection by the Board of <br />Control, to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract for personal services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Economic and Community Development be and <br />he hereby is authorized to solicit or request Statements of Qualifications (S.O.Q.) in the <br />Request for Qualification Process (R.F.Q.) for qualified firms to serve as the City's <br />architectural design professional on the Old Town Hall Phase Two Renovation Project, in <br />accordance with Chapter 112 of the Codified Ordinances and based on specifications now <br />on file in his office and that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to enter into an agreement for such services with the most qualified firm to <br />provide the services at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />
