CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 21 BY: Mayor O'Grady A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION OF FIELD RECONDITIONING SERVICES FROM THE NORTH OLMSTED HOT STOVE LEAGUE FOR DIAMONDS 4 AND S AT NORTH OLMSTED PARK, AND WAIVING FIELD PREP FEES AND PERMIT FEES FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED HOT STOVE LEAGUE FOR THE YEAR 2007, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Hot Stove League proposes to expend substantial dollars to recondition the infield and outfield areas at North Olmsted Park, including loosing the existing soil in the infield, adding soil conditioner, moving soils, diverting standing water by filling low spots, correcting elevation errors, double-slicing seed into the soil, applying fertilizers, and adding pitching mound rubbers at Diamond 5, and expanding the baseline fence line at Diamond 4; and WHEREAS, based upon the favorable recommendation of the Director of Community Life Services and the Parks and Recreation Commissioner, this Council desires to accept the said donation of field reconditioning services from the North Olmsted Hot Stove League, and waive all prep fees and permit fees for the North Olmsted Hot Stove League for the year 2007; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted hereby accepts the donation of field reconditioning services by the North Olmsted Hot Stove League for Diamonds 4 and 5 at North Olmsted Park as more fully described above and in the undated letter from the North Olmsted Hot Stove League, entitled "re: Field Improvements for Diamond #4 and Diamond #5," attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A, and further, in light of the said donation, hereby wa;,ves all prep fees and permit fees for the North Olmsted Hot Stove Leave for the year 2007. SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare, of this City and for the further reason that this Ordinance is required to be immediately effective in order that reconditioning of the fields at North Olmsted Park may be completed prior to the summer baseball season; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
