<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 53 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING TO PROCEED <br />WITH NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE SALE OF CITY-OWNED REAL PROPERTY ON <br />LORAIN ROAD IDENTIFIED AS PERMANENT PARCEL NUMBER 237-09-003 <br />AND KNOWNAS THE FORMER SITE OF THE PINE TREE BEVERAGE STOI:E, <br />AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />TO SELL THE REAL PROPERTY. <br />WHEREAS, the City owns approximately one-quarter acre of commercial property on <br />Lorain Road (Permanent Parcel No. 237-09-003) which was purchased and the building <br />demolished with CDBG funds to eliminate slum and blight conditions in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the conditions of the CDBG grant terminated on March 31, 2007, and, as of <br />April 1, 2007, the property is eligible to be sold; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration finds that there are no public uses for the subject real <br />property and that the City is expending resources to maintain the property, and accordingly <br />recommends that it be sold; and <br />WHEREAS, the property does not abut any residential property in the City and is entirely <br />surrounded by other commercial property; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Planning to proceed with negotiations related to the sale of this real property, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract for the sale of the real property at a price that is no <br />less than three-quarters of the appraised value of the property; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council finds that the real property owned by the City and <br />identified as Permanent Parcel Number 237-09-003 is surplus real property for which the City <br />has no governmental use. <br />SECTION Z: That the Director of Planning be and she is hereby authorized to proceed <br />with negotiations to sell the said real property described in Section 1 above.
