§-.Ya??t rv?4.. r:+SRS. . , l•a .?:.F?-r§ncsn. z. .. ?A v"?.a"? .F.•.wr?erc.q5. a ?Ya.?smL.z ..?. • <br />? .. . .:",:;.. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 43 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION APPRO VING OF AND A UTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO ENTER INTO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING <br />AGREEMENTS WITH THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF <br />POLICE/OHIO LABOR COUNCIL FOR THE CITY'S POLICE <br />OFFICERS AND CORRECTIONS OFFICERS, FOR THE <br />PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2007 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2008 <br />AND DECLARING AN EMER GENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Ohio law provides for the recognition of public sector labor unions and <br />for municipal corporations to negotiate collective bargaining agreements with such unions that <br />have been recognized as the bargaining agents for their public employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council (hereinafter, the <br />"FOP") has been recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for the City's police officers <br />and corrections officers; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration conducted negotiations with the FOP representing the <br />interests of the members of said bargaining units in 2007 and 2008; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration successfully negotiated agreements on all of the <br />issues that were presented during the collective bargaining negotiations between the <br />Administration and FOP, and the agreements that were negotiated are satisfactory to both the <br />Administration and the bargaining unit members; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to approve of and authorize the Mayor to <br />enter into two collective bargaining agreements with the FOP on behalf of, respectively, the <br />City's police officers and conections officers, for the period January 1, 2007 through <br />December 31, 2008; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE I T RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the collective bargaining agreements negotiated by and between <br />the Administration and the Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council (hereinafter, the <br />"FOP"), copies of which are labeled as Exhibits A and B and are on file in the office of the <br />Clerk of Council and are available upon request, are hereby approved and the Mayor is <br />authorized to execute the said two agreements. <br />
