a -• c,? r . ?. . _ : ' : w?«a?am? s? .,? ?,.?.-. . . :.-?e??p€?'" wa.u*-? ? s Pn,.? o- , a w : ,. . .. -w . ,??. _ .- <br />CITY OF NORTH OLM5TED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 54 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION RETROACTIVELY AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY <br />RECYCLING AWARENESS GRANT FROM THE CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISTRICT; FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF <br />AWARDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District offers Community Recycling <br />Awareness Grants to communities in the maximum amount of Three Thousand Five Hundred <br />Dollars ($3,500.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor, because of filing deadline time constraints, has already made <br />application for such a grant in order to purchase and distribute recycling information magnets and <br />a recycling informational video in the North Olmsted community; and <br />WHEREAS, there are no matching funds required for this grant; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to retroactively authorize the Mayor to file an <br />application far a Community Recycling Awareness Grant with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste <br />District; to further authorize the Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a contract <br />if required and such other documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and is hereby retroactively authorized to file an <br />Application with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District for Community Recycling Awareness <br />Grant in the maximum amount of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00). <br />SECTION 2: That further the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the grant, <br />if awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required, and all <br />such other documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant. <br />SECTION 4: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measilre <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately because the <br />application deadline has already passed, and action taken by the Administration without Council <br />approval must be ratified in order for the City to obtain the benefits of said action; and further
