CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 65 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SER VICE TO AD VERTISE <br />FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5,000 TONS OF ASPHALT, TACK COATING AND <br />RELATED ITEMS FOR VARIOUS SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE <br />CITY AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER <br />TO PURCHASE SAID ASPHALT, TACK COATING AND RELATED ITEMS, AFTER <br />BOARD OF CONTROL APPROVAL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to purchase <br />5,000 tons of asphalt, tack coating and related items for various Service Department needs throughout the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications for said asphalt, tack coating and related items, as prepared under <br />the direction of the Service Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Service Director's Office; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids <br />for 5,000 tons of asphalt, tack coating and related items for various Service Department needs throughout the City, <br />and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to purchase said asphalt, <br />±ack coating and related items, after Board of Control approval; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for <br />5,000 tons of asphalt, tack coating and related items for various Service Department needs throughout the City in <br />accordance with the specifications now on file in the Service Director's Office, and further that, upon approval by <br />the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of <br />North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary <br />for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this <br />Resolution go into effect immediately in order to purchase seasonal supplies, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upor its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />_'ASSED: <br />r <br />First Reading.' <br />Second Reading.• <br />Third Reading: c-s a-,-?? <br />? <br />i <br />ATTE . ?? 7,c <br />BA ARA L.
