CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 75 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady and Councilman Ryan <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, TO ENTER INTO A <br />COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH ST. RICHARD'S PARISH TO <br />SUPPORT ITS MEMBERSHIP IN THE GREATER CLEVELAND <br />FOOD BANK (GCFB) AND TO FACILITATE EMERGENCY FOOD <br />PROVISIONS FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED FOOD CUPBOARD, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Community Life Services has, in an effort to <br />increase provisions for the North Olmsted Emergency Food Cupboard, offered to <br />support St. Richard's membership application to join the Greater Cleveland Food <br />Bank (GCFB); and <br />WHEREAS, this Council is requested to authorize the Mayor to enter into a <br />cooperative agreement with St. Richard's to provide for storage space and refrigeratiori <br />facilities at the North Olmsted Emergency Food Cupboard, so as to enable St. Richard's <br />to meet the storage requirements of the GCFB, and to thereby assist the Department of <br />Community Services in providing emergency food provisions to low- and moderate- <br />income North Olmsted residents; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into <br />such a cooperative agreement with St. Richard's Parish to support its membership in the <br />GCFB and in order to facilitate the City's participation in the GCFB emergency food <br />programs to benefit low- and moderate-income residents of North Olmsted; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a <br />cooperative agreement with St. Richard's Parish, and as an agency of Cleveland Catholic <br />Diocese, to provide adequate storage space and/or refrigeration and otherwise to support <br />and enable St. Richard's membership application and requirements of the Greater <br />Cleveland Food Bank. The agreement shall be substantially in the form of the <br />cooperative agreement attached to this Resolution and marked as "Exhibit A," with only <br />such changes therein as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved <br />by the Mayor and the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being <br />substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the <br />agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the agreement by the Director of Law.
