. ?v <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-31 <br />BY: Councilmember Nashar <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FII.E <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />ADDITION OF THE WORDS "BET'WEEN THE HOURS OF <br />7 A. M. AND 9 P. M. " ON THE EXISTING SIGN AT THE <br />INTERSECTION OF GREAT NORTHERN BOULEVARD AND <br />LORAIN ROAD, WHICH PROHIBITS RIGHT TTIRNS ON RED <br />FROM GREAT NORTHERN BOULEVARD ONTO LORAIN <br />ROAD, SO AS TO PROHIBIT SUCH RIGHT TURNS ON RED <br />ONLY DURING THE HOURS OF 7 A.M. TO 9 P.M. AS <br />AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, this Council adopted Ordinance No. 82-31 on March 16, 1982, providing for <br />the amendment of the Traffic Control File to provide for the installation and maintenance of a"no <br />right turn on red" sign at the intersection of Great Northern Boulevard and Lorain Road; and <br />WHEREAS, upon review, and after consultation with the City Engineer, this Council finds <br />that right turns on red at the said intersection can be made safely during the hours of 9 P.M. to <br />7 A.M.; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council further believes that permitting such right turns on red during <br />evening, late night and early morning hours will facilitate the orderly flow of traffic in the City <br />during those times; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the safety, health <br />and welfare of the residents of and visitors to the City of North Olmsted to permit right turns on <br />red at the intersection of Great Northern Boulevard and Lorain Road, for traffic travelling north <br />on Great Northern Boulevard, during the hours of 9 P.M. to 7 A.M.; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for amendments to the City's <br />Traffic Control File by ordinance of this Council; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
