<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2003 -139 <br />BY: Mayor Musial. <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH JOE RICE & ASSOCIATES RELATWG TO <br />PROVIDING PHYSICAL SECURITYAT THE RECREATION <br />COMPLEX, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor, in or about April, 2003, upon the recommendation of the <br />Director of Public Safety, executed on behalf of the City a contract with Joe Rice & <br />Associates in the amount of $2,000.00 relating to providing physical security at the <br />Recreation Complex; and <br />WHEREAS, said contract did not require Council approval because the <br />expenditure involved was within the scope of the Mayor's contract authority, pursuant to <br />Section 131.01 of the Administrative Code, to-wit: $2,000.00 or less; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor, again pursuant to the recommendation of the Director of <br />Public Safety, desires to execute a second contract with Joe Rice & Associates involving <br />an expenditure of $1,935.00 relating to providing physical security at the Recreation <br />Complex, and has been advised by the Director of Law that said second contract should <br />be submitted to Council for authorization; and <br />WHEREA5, it is the desire of this Council to so authorize the Mayor to execute a <br />second contract with Joe Rice & Associates relating to providing physical security at the <br />Recreation Complex; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLM5TED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OffiO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to execute a second <br />contract with Joe Rice & Associates, in the amount of $1,935.00 relating to providing <br />physical security at the Recreation Complex. The contract sha11 be substantiall}-in-Ae <br />. in a form and substance <br />that is consistent with the September 2, 2003 proposal from Joe Rice & Associates and <br />approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That there are sufficient funds apprapriated for Safety Department <br />operations to provide for this contract expenditure in the year 2003. <br />
