CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2003 - 91 BY: Council Member Kasler AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 141.01 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "DOG WARDEN," IN ORDER TO CLARIFY THE DUTIES OF THE CITY'S ANIMAL WARDEN, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, this Council recently adopted Ordinance Nos. 2002-86 and 2002-87, each of which established new animal regulations to be enforced by the City's Animal Warden; and WHEREAS, during the course of the legislative proceedings for the said two ordinances, the Director of Law recommended that additional legislation be adopted clarifying the duties of the City's Animal Warden; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to accordingly clarify the duties of the Animal Warden; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 141.01 of the Administrative Code of the City of North Olmsted, entitled "Dog Warden," which presently reads as follows: "141.01 DOG WARDEN. The Public Service Department is hereby authorized to appoint a Dog Warden for the City." Be amended, and, as amended, shall read as follows: "141.01 ANIMAL WARDEN. (a) There is hereby established the position of Animal Warden. The Director of Public Service shall appoint and remove the Animal Warden. The Animal Warden shall have authority to enforce all of the provisions of Chapter 505 of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances. As such, the Animal Warden is authorized to issue and serve notices of complaints to persons found violating any of the provisions of said Chapter 505. The Animal Warden shall perform such other duties consistent with this position as may be assigned by the Director of Public Service."
