CITY OF NORTH OLM5TED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-13 <br />BY: The Entire City Council <br />A RESOLUTION TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE THE <br />ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF VERA BREWER AND TO <br />CONGRATULATE HER ON BEING NAMED THE 2003 <br />WOMAN OF THE YEAR FOR THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN <br />VOTERS OF WESTLAKE/NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, Vera Brewer has been selected as the Woman of the Year by the Westlake/North <br />Olmsted League of Women Voters; and <br />WHEREAS, Vera Brewer serves as the Communications and Public Relations Director for the <br />North Olmsted City Schools; and <br />WHEREAS, Vera Brewer has served her community by participating in many activities <br />including serving as a legislative delegate for PTA Council for seven years and as PTA Council President; <br />she has served as a Community Couneil representative for Eagle Boosters and the NOCS; she is NOCS <br />Education Foundation Trustee and a Leadership Team member for the Faith Communities Forum; and <br />WHEREAS, Vera Brewer's accomplishments include tracking trends in education, legislation <br />and school funding, establishing media relations and exploring and developing communication venues; <br />she has helped develop the "Public Education - It Works" initiative with the Westshore communities, <br />created student mini-grants through the Education Foundation, developed relationships between business <br />leaders, staff, parents and city officials through the Public Relations Committee; and <br />WHEREA5, Vera Brewer has used her abilities and talents to promote an atmosphere of <br />excellence in education for the children of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO <br />Section L• That the Council of the City of North Olmsted, on behalf of the Mayor, members of <br />the administration and all the residents of the city hereby honors Vera Brewer on her award as the 2003 <br />Woman of the Year presented by the Westlake/North Olmsted League of Women Voters. <br />Section 2: That this Resolution be spread in full upon the record of this Council and that the <br />Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward a duly authenticated and executed copy of this Resolution <br />to Vera Brewer. <br />Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in effect from and after the earliest period allowed by <br />law. <br />PASSED:?-z C) 0 ? <br />? <br />First Reading: Q ?-- <br />Second Reading: <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: ??--z-n{?r---?- <br />, ? <br />1 <br />; <br />$arbara L.
