CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />~j, ~ RESOLUTION N0. ®~.~ <br />BY i~.e~r/. <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED THAT ITS ADMINISTRATIVE <br />OFFICERS SHALL COOPERATE IN A JOINT EFFORT WITH <br />NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES TO SOLVE THE STORM WATER <br />DRAINAGE PROBLEM NOW EXISTING, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCX . <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has experienced <br />continued and growing problems resulting from over bank flooding and <br />inadequate storm water drainage, and <br />WHEREAS, the problem is related to and aggravated by <br />storm. water emanating from both outside and inside the corporate <br />boundaries of the City, requiring improved drainage outlets from the <br />City of Westlake, and <br />WHEREAS, the adequate and equitable solution to this <br />problem can best be achieved by cooperative action between local <br />communities, the State of Ohio, and the United States Government; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br /> <br />Section 1: That the City of North Olmsted does hereby <br />authorize and encourage its administrative officers to work with <br />counterpart officers in the adjacent communities of Avon, Avon Lake, <br />Bay Village, Fairview Park, Westlake, North Ridgeville and other <br />interested communities, and the State and Federal representatives for <br />the purpose of determing the most advantageous program for cooperative <br />action for the management and control of streams within the corporate <br />limits. <br />Section 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />enter into an agreement, the cost of which is not to exceed $1,666.67 <br />for the payment of the expense for the preparation of a point application <br />to be filed with the State of Ohio and the United States Government for <br />funds to alleviate said flooding conditions. <br />Section 3: That this resolution is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation <br />of the public health, safety and welfare, and by virtue of the fact that <br />immediate action. is necessary to alleviate flooding conditions affecting <br />real and personal property within the City, and provided further that it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : ,,~07~_~~ <br />ATTEST : /~ f~~~ <br />/, 1./~~..~c..G~ <br />_L~Y~ <br />Nora T.
