,~ <br />BrJ_.w..~.x <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 70-32 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RE-ESTABLISHING THE POSITIONS <br />OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AN D THE <br />DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY AS SEPARATE AND <br />DISTINCT OFFICES ;APPROVING THE APPOINT- <br />MENT OF THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED AS DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY ; <br />REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 64-20, AND DE- <br />GLARING AN EMERGENCY'. <br />WHEREAS, the positions of the Director of Public Safety and Director of <br />Public Service were formerly combined into one position known as the Director of <br />Public Safety and Public Service ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted sets forth that the <br />Mayor of North Olmsted is the chief conservator of the peace and must enforce <br />laws and ordinances of the City of North Olmsted ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor is the acting head of the department of safety and <br />in that capacity has acted and has performed the duties of the Director of Public <br />Safety. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio <br />Section 1. The position of Director of Public Service and Public Safety is <br />hereby abolished and these offices are to be separate and distinct offices no longer <br />combined into one office, and the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to perform <br />the duties as Acting Director of Public Safety. <br />Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions, or parts of ordinances <br />or parts of resolutions, inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this Ordinances, <br />and especially Ordinance No. 63-20, are repealed with the effective date of this <br />Ordinance . <br />Section 3. That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, safety . health and <br />welfare of the City by virtue of the fact that this office of Director of Public Safety <br />is necessary for the efficient operation of the safety forces within the City of North <br />Olmsted. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. . <br />PASSED: ~_ ,~tsa.tit ~..f.,L.~~O <br />ATTEST: <br />Nora T.
