w <br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 69- Z, & <br />BY <br />A RESOLUTIOIV COMMEIVDING AND THANKING THE <br />LAKEWOOD LODGE NO. 1350 B. P. O. ELKS FOR THE <br />GENEROSITY AND KINDNESS EXHIBITED BY THEM <br />DURING THE 1968 CHRISTMAS SEASON , AND DE- <br />CLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 of the B. P. O. Elks <br />through their generosity and kindness has distributed Christmas baskets <br />to the needy in order that deserving and needy families could enjoy a <br />Christmas dinner ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Social and Community Welfare Committee of the <br />Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 B. P. 0. Elkscollected funds from its members, <br />selected names of needy families and further reviewed said names in order <br />to ascertain families which were needful of food ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Social and Community Welfare Committee,together <br />with other volunteers from the Lakewood Lodge,No. 1350 B. P.O. Elks , gave <br />unstintingly of their time in order to deliver said baskets on Christmas eve <br />and Christmas morning ; and <br />WHEREAS, said Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 B. P. O. Elks did deliver <br />several baskets to needy families in the City of North Olmsted ; and <br />WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted wishes to publicly <br />commend and recognize the efforts, set forth by members of the Lakewood <br />Lodge No. 1350 B.P.O. Elks during the 1968 Christmas Season. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R£SOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Council of the City of North Olmsted recognizes <br />and commends Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 B. P.O. Elks for their kind and <br />generous gifts of food to needy families within the City of North Olmsted, <br />and especially to the Social and Community Welfare Committee for the un- <br />stintingly contribution of time and effort in preparing Christmas food baskets <br />and delivering the food baskets as directed by the Chairman of the Social <br />and Community Welfare Committee, Mr. John Dunwiddie. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council of the City of North Olmsted <br />is directed to foYward a certified and conformed copy of this resolution to the <br />Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 B. P. O. Elks, and is further directed to place this <br />resolution of thanks on the records of Council of the City of North Olmsted. <br />Section 3. That this resolution is declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the public peace, health, safety and welfare by virtue <br />of the fact that said welfare of thiD citizens of North Olmsted was enriched <br />during the 1968 Christmas Season, and that said thanks should be forth- <br />coming to the group responsible for enriching the welfare of the citizens of <br />North Olmsted at the earliestpossible time. WHEREFORE, this resolution shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSE D: ?41 <br />ATTEST: <br />Florence-Holm, Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: <br />Ralph .
