AN 0 INANCE APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF <br />WITH THE Ah1ERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, <br />MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES IN THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />THE THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE <br />ENACTED OCTOSER 2, 1979, and DECLARING <br />UNDERSTANDING <br />COUNTY AND <br />DIVISION <br />THE CITY OF <br />N0. 79-116, <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />41HEREAS, the City has entered into Memoranda of Understanding with <br />the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees with <br />respect to the compensation and other conditions of employment of certain <br />employees in the Public 4Jorks Division of the Department of Public Service <br />of the City of North Olmsted, said Memoranda being authorized by <br />Ordinance No. 73-115 enacted September 18, 1973; Ordinance No. 75-198 <br />enacted September 2, 7975; Ordinance No. 77-170 enacted October 18,1977; <br />and Ordinance No. 79-116 enacted October 2, 1979, and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Memorandum of Under- <br />standing provided for and incorporated in Ordinance No. 79-116, <br />discussions have been conducted by the representatives of the City and <br />representatives of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal <br />Employees concerning revisions in and a renewal of the Memorandum of <br />Understanding, and <br />WHEREAS, understandings have been reached in the course of said <br />discussions with respect to the compensation and other conditions of <br />employment of the employees aforementione,,d. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Memorandum of Understanding with the American <br />Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, attached hereto <br />and made a part hereof as though fully rewritten herein, is hereby <br />adopted, ratified and approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized and <br />directed to affix his signature thereto for and on behalf of the City <br />of North Olrosted. <br />SECTION 2: That a71 other ordinances or resolutions or parts of <br />ordinances or resolutions inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this <br />ordinance and especia7ly Ordinance No. 79-116, enacted on October 2, <br />1979, are hereby repealed with the effective date of this ordinance to <br />the extent that they pertain to employees in the bargaining unit covered <br />by the Memorandum of Understanding and are inconsistent with this <br />ordinance including the Memorandum of Understanding attached hereto and <br />made a part hereof. <br />SECTION 3: That the Clerk of Council is hereby instructed to <br />forward a copy of this Ordinance to the Director of Public Service and <br />to the Director of Finance in order that the Director of Finance can <br />pay the compensation authorized by this Ordinance and the Memorandum <br />of Understanding attached hereto and made a part hereof.
